The new Minister of State for Employment Relations, Norman Lamb is a former employment lawyer and former partner and head of the employment department at Steeles Law Firm.
This is the first time in my memory that the Minister responsible for employment law has a specialist employment law background. It remains to be seen whether it will make any substantive difference, though for the moment we can all hold out hope for a more informed debate and well drafted legislation.
